Claw Money reinterpreted a sketch from students from the Yeshiva of Flabush to create a Claw Money experience while simultaneously paying homage to the vibrant essence of Coney Island and its community.
A Yeshivah of Flatbush education is the first essential step in a lifelong pursuit of knowledge, achievement, leadership and success. For 85 years, the Yeshivah has led the way to significant advances in Jewish education. From learning Ivrit b'lvrit, to integrating Hessed into the curriculum, launching a post-high school year in Israel and introducing interdisciplinary and Advanced Placement courses, we are renowned for excellence and innovation. The school is a vibrant learning lab with a rich program of core curricular and extracurricular classes and activities focused on educating the complete child. Committed to a philosophy of Torah U'Maddah, the school has programs in all fields of study that enable students to build confidence while exploring and developing their interests, talents and passion for learning.
Claudia “CLAW” Gold is one of the world's most prolific graffiti artists, a hard earned title in a subculture historically dominated by men. Claudia's unsanctioned art career dates back to 1989, when her CLAW icon became a ubiquitous fixture of NYC's urban sprawl. Her significance as an internationally acclaimed legend in the street art movement has been commemorated in prominent graffiti films, “Infamy” and “Bomb It”, as well as the focus of the first in a series of women in art documentaries produced and featured by Google called “WIGS”. Her first book “BOMBSHELL: The Life and Crimes of CLAW Money” sold out quickly and is now considered a collector’s item.
Having long since abandoned her former ways, Claudia now stands as a recognized artist, influencer, fashion editor, author and designer whose products transcend her company’s offerings under her Claw Money and Claw & Co. labels.
Claudia has changed the landscape and set precedents by being the first female artist to do collaborations with big-name companies such as Nike, Mountain Dew, NASCAR, Van’s, K2, Uggs, GPen, Fila and Calvin Klein. Brands continue to call upon her insight and authenticity to aid in creating or collaborating new products or creative direction for campaigns.
Claudia continues to create her work that’s sought after internationally; showing yearly at Art Basel, galleries and events all over the world. She also does commissioned murals for corporate giants and small community organizations alike.
Most recently, Claudia found a new forum to showcase her vision and opened up a combined store front and gallery space in her old Lower East Side stomping grounds. The store is located at 101 Delancey Street in Manhattan and will embody all that is Claudia Gold with her clothing, vintage pieces, art and effervescent, one-of-a-kind Claw$ style.
