“Golden Brooklyn” addresses the phantasmagoria that is The Real Brooklyn. A place where Orthodox Jewish gentlemen don 18th century style hats. Birthplace of Rena “Rusty” Kanokogi, mother of women’s judo in America, who “… spent much of her teenage years trawling the burnt-out remains of Luna Park (Coney Island) with a bayonet strapped to her leg …” [1] while her mother sold hot dogs for a living. And home to legendary Brooklyn baker Cake Man Raven (Raven Patrick De’Sean Dennis III) whom the New York Daily News declared “turned Dixieland dessert red velvet cake into a Brooklyn thing”. [2]
