About Haze

Born and bred in New York City, Eric Haze has made his impact felt in the worlds of art, design, branding, and art direction for over four decades now.

After making his initial mark as a pioneer during graffiti’s coming of age above ground into art galleries, Haze has made a career out of pushing creative boundaries in a wide variety of mediums.

Soon after establishing his first full-service design studio in 1986, Haze emerged as one of the premier graphic designers of the Hip-Hop movement, creating iconic logos, album covers, and identities for the likes of the Beastie Boys, Tommy Boy, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Tone Loc, and EPMD.

In 1991, Eric relocated his design studio to Los Angeles, where he also founded his eponymous clothing and accessory brand, HAZE, achieving international recognition as one of the original pioneers of global street wear. HAZE brand was also one of the leading pioneers of “artists x brand” collaborations, a field in which they still maintain a strong international presence and client base.

In 2005, Eric returned home to New York from California, re-establishing his new multi-media design studio and showroom in Brooklyn. Haze also returned to painting and drawing in the new millennium, once again achieving critical success and international exposure for his unique style.

Haze has since presented solo exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Paris and Tokyo, and was also featured in the seminal 2011 exhibition “Art In The Streets” at MOCA in Los Angeles.

Eric Haze currently lives and works out of Brooklyn, NY, where he lives with his wife, actress Rosie Perez, and their one-eyed cat Jack.
